Embassy of Chad in the United States

Your Excellency,
I am writing to inform you that the 2004 RFK Memorial Human Rights Award has been awarded to Ms. Delphine Djiraibe from Chad.
Ms. Djiraibe has been a tireless advocate for the human rights of the Chadian people. She is being recognized for her work on the Chad-Cameroon pipeline. Her work seeks to ensure that the people of Chad benefit from the pipeline and the profits therefrom, to prevent degradation of the environment resulting from its construction, and to ensure that the World Bank and the oil companies remain accountable for the effects of the pipeline project.
The mission of the RFK Memorial Center for Human Rights is to support the work of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award Laureates. The award is given annually to an activist who stands up for the nonviolent pursuit of respect for human rights.
Feel free to contact me at (202) 463-7575 with any questions you may have.
Best,

Todd Howland, Director
Center for Human Rights
