Chakufwa Chihana
Chakufwa Chihana (Malawi, 1992)

A pro-democracy advocate and trade union leader, Chakufwa Chihana realized success in 1993 when the Malawi government introduced a multi-party democracy. Chihana went on to lead one of Malawi's three major political parties and served as the country's second Vice-President.

Congratulations to Chakufwa Chihana, a Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award recipient, who achieved his goals.
