2005 RFK Laureate Stephen Bradberry, head organizer of ACORN New Orleans, was on one of the nation's biggest morning radio shows, The Tom Joyner Morning Show, as part of a media campaign organized by the RFK Memorial to protect low and middle income family homes in New Orleans from a recent ordinance that would give the city the power to seize and bulldoze homes that were not cleaned out by August 29th.

Stephen's interview prompted an on air response by Mayor Ray Nagin, who had to answer for his blatant disregard for the rights of those who are still displaced from New Orleans, many of whom are poor and have not been able to afford to rebuild yet. The Mayor said it was a hard decision and blamed the federal government for their lack of financial support to homeowners.
